THURLES CAREERS & JOBS FAIR 21/4/23
BACKGROUND
This event was hosted by Thurles Chamber and was held in The Dome, Semple Stadium between 2pm & 7pm on Friday 21st April 2023.
North Tipperary Development Company, was able to take a stall at this event, which was fully subscribed by Local, National, and international companies, such as:

EVENT DETAILS
NTDC staff attended from 1.30pm to enable set-up of the stand. Programme areas of Tús, SICAP, Ukrainian Supports were in attendance, with information on all areas of NTDC promoted through Pop-ups, flyers, and hand-outs.
The event was opened at 2pm and NTDC staff engaged with attendees, Thurles Chamber members, Local TD’s, Councillors, and other companies attending the fair.
Approximately 125 people interacted with NTDC staff at the event, with a demographic of 16 years old – 65 years old. All areas of Tús, CE, Ukrainian New Communities, Career Guidance and Work Readiness were engaged with and led to an extremely busy event.
OUTCOMES
The outcomes from the event can be broken down as follows:
Ukrainian engagement – Approximately 55-60 client enquiries translated and assistance with queries ranging from Tús participation to CV and Career guidance / work readiness.
Tús and CE queries – The 3 supervisors dealt with upwards of 35 queries from all areas of the community. Engagement was also undertaken with Local TD and councillors.
Work Readiness & Career Guidance – The two officers engaged with over 70 people in all areas, such as Ukrainian new communities, CV preparation, Work Readiness and Career Guidance job hunting skills. Links to all the businesses present was made, with some already committing to attending a future fair and a meeting has now been set up between NTDC and Thurles Chamber over assistance at the NTDC Jobs Fair event due to be held in September / October
Direct outcomes
We have raised the profile of NTDC through our engagement at the event.
Ukrainian CV / Career Guidance event has been publicised, with positive feedback from those attending towards us running some workshops.
Appointments have been made with upwards of 10 clients for the coming week regarding Work Readiness and Career supports.
Merchandise was used for the first time and proved a major draw to the stand together with most being taken away to further, advertising possibilities.
Links and networking undertaken successfully with local businesses to promote our services.
