Tipperary County Council has launched a new scheme called The Community Activities Fund to support community groups. The total amount of funding available is €199,381 and it is estimated that each grant will be €2000. The scheme is to support community and voluntary groups impacted by Covid-19. This once-off fund will be allocated under the Department’s Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) and it will be administered by Tipperary Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs).
The Community Activities Fund will support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, with their running costs such as utility or insurance bills, as well as with improvements to their facilities. Groups will also be able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and to purchase equipment such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment.
The scheme is now open and will close for applications on the 17th of December 2021.
